![]() These days, Netflix is made up of a fair amount of movies that attain mere forgettability instead of outright awfulness. Since then, Netflix has bagged an Oscar, elbowed its way into Cannes, and spent more than Panama’s gross national product on content. The second film they released was the one where a donkey explosively sharts all over Adam Sandler. It’s a real movie, and by my count, a pretty good one. And so Netflix exec Ted Sarandos made a dignified selection for his first narrative go on the silver screen: Beasts of No Nation, a movie about child militias in Africa, with a well-pedigreed creative team (Cary Fukunaga was comin’ in hot off his True Detective stint, Idris Elba was a brand-name star) and their according awards potential. It was not so long ago that the service formerly known as “Netflix Instant” well, sucked it was a repository for direct-to-DVD sequels, little-seen stand-up specials, and candy-colored kiddie cartoons seemingly plucked from Lisa Frank’s more vivid night terrors. Ever since it began branding its logo on original films in 2015, Netflix’s primary goal has been to divorce itself from the “digital dollar bin” reputation it established upon first pivoting from the snail-mail service, now an unsettlingly faint memory, to streaming. Netflix has spent the last few years and several billions of dollars on a crusade to be taken more seriously. This article has been updated through the end of 2020. If anything, Stick is still at a disadvantage because mouse can use either weapon system easily where as joystick still has limited usage of gimbals.Which Netflix original movies are worth streaming? Controller parity has little to do with it. ![]() Where as the other is potentially more powerful while being more challenging to use. It's a matter of one is easier to aim but comes at the cost of less potential firepower. ![]() The idea behind fixed and gimbaled isn't one is explicitly better for mouse, while the other is explicitly better for keyboard. and HOJAM is the best set-up overall for control sensitivity, and granularity. Mouse and keyboard is clearly superior to HOTAS. Other than for offhand strafing controls where having analog control is better. Be it racing, exploring, dogfighting, etc. I have two HOTAS and still prefer to use mouse and keyboard or HOJAM over HOTAS at all times no matter what I'm doing. I'm saying mouse is ALWAYS better than stick. That, or the ship is sacrificing firepower to gain some other advantage instead like extreme speed, maneuverability and/or small size. If you're using a ship and it can only fit fixed size 1 weapons, then it's probably not meant to be a strong military threat, and is probably there mostly as a deterrent than anything else. Most of the ships with S1 hard-points are either starter ships that don't have a heavy emphasis on combat or ships that are too small to fit anything else like the Merlin, Archimedes and M50. ![]() If the design of the ship where to have gimbaled S1's, then it would specifically come with a non removable gimbaled mount like on the Mustang.Ī fixed size one weapon mount is the weakest of weapons, that's why it's not all the common on true combat oriented ships. If you have S1 mounts there's no other way to penalize the player for adding gimbals or allow for the extra space needed. Gimbals are essentially a crutch to assist people who can't aim well enough with fixed weapons at the cost of a less firepower. They do it to increase the size of their weapons. That's not why people prefer to use fixed over gimbals. ![]()
